Volvo Penta’s classified engines and gensets:
- Manufactured and tested in accordance with Classification Society Rules and Regulations.
- Surveys conducted according to Rules, or according to special agreements.
- Product Certificate issued in accordance with Classification Society Rules and Regulations.
- Final survey onboard before accepted (load test, functional tests etc)
The engine design is in conformance with specifications used in the Type Approval assessment, i.e in accordance with drawings, specifications and data used for obtaining Design Approval, and in conformance with configuration of the representative sample used in Type Tests.
To classify a type approved engine the engine must be classifiable and the requirement of continuous power must be fulfilled.
