For semi-planing craft
Previously Volvo Penta IPS has been reserved for planing vessels. That’s history. It’s now available also for semi-planing boats, such as trawlers. The benefits in terms of comfort are obvious: virtually no fumes, minimum noise and vibrations, and of course effortless joystick docking.

IPS350–IPS800 diesels in twin installation are available, covering boat lengths up to around 70 feet.

Multiple installations
By installing three or four Volvo Penta IPS units, instead of the usual two, even more power options emerge (see application chart). All alternatives are equally easy to drive with standard twin controls and all accessories available.

Dock from the aft deck
Volvo Penta IPS provides a new level of control, not least when it comes to docking. It is possible to install up to four joysticks, which means you can dock while standing on aft deck, where you have the best possible view.
