With a Volvo Penta engine, you get efficient charging with the standard configuration. The complete diesel range features 115A/12V or 80A/24V alternators and the built-in charging sensor (The D3 features 140A/12V without charging sensor.).
The charging sensor controls the voltage delivered by the alternator. The unique feature is that the sensor measures the delivered voltage at the battery bank. Therefore it automatically compensates for the voltage drop that is more or less unavoidable in an onboard electrical system.
The result is perfect battery charging for single or multiple battery banks, without the risk of overcharging.
